Jacquelin Vanderwood May 1, 2001 As always, Total Training has produced a learning set of videos that are a definite "must have". Especially if you are going to use Photoshop 6 and Image Ready 3.0 to produce graphics and animations for your web site creations. In this series of videos, Deke McClelland, with his wry sense of humor and antics, presents us with detailed information about every aspect of creating web graphics using Photoshop and Image Ready that one can think of concerning it. These videos will show you how to produce graphics for the web-- making them small (optimizing) so that the user does not have to wait for them to download. Also, Color Management is covered in depth, why you should use it. You'll get explanations on web file formats and how to set them up for the best possible scenario for your web graphics. Indexing color shows you how to 'index' colors before you save with explanations about the Bit Depth Tables. What you should do to harvest color palettes, plus how to save for the web using the side-by-side method. If you have a digital camera, Deke will show you how use it with regards to capturing images to use on the web. When working on subject matter for the web, if you are using Photoshop, you'll also need to know about Image Ready. You'll learn about the similarities of the two programs and the differences including the benefits of both. Again, optimization is discussed in greater detail for Image Ready because of it's more wide ranging capabilities that it possesses than does Photoshop. If you've wondered what a droplet is, wonder no more. In this section we are shown how to create an Action which will do the work of the Droplet for us. (Most of us recognize Droplet more as a batch processing function.) As you get to the finish line of preparing your graphics for publising, you'll discover how to create image maps, how to use the slicing tools, and the process of producing rollovers and animation. Deke is the one on the right - (as a side note - in this series we are introduced to Deke's first offspring - cute). If you are interested in learning these processes quickly while being taught by a master, I urge you to purchase these videos. They are filled with so much information that you will have to watch them again and again to absorb all of it. Deke McClelland and Brian Maffitt (the Producer) do an incredible job. As always, Total Training has produced a 5-star quality learning series. Copyright 2001, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved |
