| Vikki Olds November 5, 2001 The Xara FrontPage Add In is a very unique web tool. It's a very innovative idea. Are you tired of wanting to do something only to be told that whatever it is is not available on your server? Or, you're told that you'll have to script it or code it yourself and by the way "You're on your own." Xara has come to the rescue of those who need something and they need it now without having to learn a scripting or programming language. Without have to try and learn how to set it up on the server. Without having to beg the server administrator to allow it's use on your server. You know what I'm talking about...cgi comes to mind right off the top of my head. Feedback forms that do more than just send a non formatted email. Or what about databases? I can think of a lot of things that some servers just don't allow. Bother, bother, bother. Oh sure, there are services online that provide one or more of the things you want but, what is their uptime, how big are they, how supportive are they, how reliable are they? Xara to the rescue! Xara is a big, reliable company that is now offering probably almost everything you ever wanted on your web site and it can all be set up quickly and easily by you using the Xara FrontPage Add In. When you install the Add In, FrontPage gets a new menu option on it's Insert menu called Xara Module. From that menu option you can get information on all of the modules, insert a new module or insert one you already have set up. You can manage your modules from here also.  
If you choose Module Info from the menu you will be taken online to see the following screen. From there you can check out the various modules that are available and their cost. 
From the Insert New Module choice you'll get a dialog like the one below prompting you for your Xara account information. If you haven't set up an account you can do it from this dialog also. Simply click the Join button. If you already have a Xara account you simply click Sign-in. 
The Xara modules are provided on a 15 day trial basis, although, some are free. Once you are connected via your online Xara account you will see the following screen and you can make your choices of modules you'd like to use from the navigation on the left. From that navigation you can also preview what a module looks like or does before applying to what you are working on. 
The screenshots below make most of what the Add In does self explanatory. 
I found these modules to be quick and easy to set up and of course you don't have to have FrontPage extensions on your server for any of this to work. It all comes from Xara. Each module lets you know the cost right on the information page as shown in the screenshots above. You really need to check this stuff out if only for the 15 day trial period.
