There are some terrific improvements in Adobe Premier Pro CS3 such as the Time Remapping feature. Time remapping allows you to selectively speed up and slow down video at particular frames to create fast and slow motion especially used in broadcasting in television and commercial work. You can access the feature right in the timeline so it makes it easy to use.
Another dynamic tool is Multi-Camera Editing, and what that does is allow you to coordinate and synchronize video from cameras that have been shooting the same scene from different angles. Once the scene sequences have had Multi-Camera Editing applied, it's easy to open the sequences in the monitor and edit them.
Also very important in the production process is the ability to switch between Adobe programs instantly. This process is called Dynamic Link and allows you to create and import an After Effects composition directly within Premier. Logistically, that means that when you edit an animation within After Effects, it updates live within Premier immediately, no waiting. It's called instantaneous gratification especially when you're trying to meet a deadline.
Once you've completed your project, the next step is to export it. The location where you do that is what's called the Media Encoder. In the Media Encoder you have many options on how you want the video to be delivered. Some of the presets include FLV (Flash), QuickTime, Windows Media, MPEG-2, and also presets for delivering to YouTube, Google Video, PSP, DVD, and Blu-Ray discs. If exporting for mobile devices, you can easily and efficiently crop the video to fit a projected device, and then view the actual edited piece in the Output area.
Color correction is essential in producing professional quality video and Adobe Premiere Pro comes equipped with color effects that translate into 8-bit and 10-bit which represents Standard Definition and High Definition. If you are familiar with Photoshop and color correction, then the color tools in this program will be recognizable to you.
When you've finished editing and need to migrate the video to another machine, then it's time to consolidate, collect, or trim the project and that is done in the Project Manager screen. This is beneficial especially when you've got files all over the place and you need to copy them into one new location and then delete the files from your own machine using the new file as the finished project file.
For the review and approval process, Clip Notes are the way to send and receive feedback, and they can be exported via PDF at the sequence you specify. Each PDF file contains the video along with an area in Clip Notes to type a reply.
Premier Pro works directly with OnLocation, After Effects, Photoshop Extended, Soundbooth, Encore, and Flash making importing and exporting of components streamlined and time-saving.
Excellent upgrades and improvements!
