Adobe Photoshop 5.5
Classroom in a Book, Web Edition

It's
like having an Adobe trainer at your desk with you. Since this is
the Web Edition it starts right out with ImageReady and how to optimize
your images for the Web.
Chapter
2 starts with Photoshop 5.5 basics. These basics are selection and
layers, filters, painting and even some retouching. Quite some basics!
This is an action packed chapter.
Lesson
1: Work Area
Lesson 2: Working with Selections
Lesson 3: Painting and Editing
Lesson 4: Masks and channels
Later on you get into special effects and preparing images for two
color printing.
The
steps are all explained and illustrated. In comparison, many of the tutorials I found on
the web were missing critical steps.
If you are just starting out with Photoshop 5.5 and expect to be doing
work on the Web, then this is where you'll find the accurate instructions
to get you on the right path. The CD-ROM that is included contains all
the files and images needed to complete each of the exercises.
I
haven't found a Classroom in a Book yet that didn't live up to Adobe's
name and this one is no different. Exceptional teaching quality.
