Paint Shop Pro 6 Power is a comprehensive guide to using Paint Shop Pro 6. You won't learn this stuff in the User Guide that comes with Paint Shop Pro 6, at least not as easily as you will with this book.

Just when I thought I had Paint Shop Pro 6 almost figured out I came across something new. Paint Shop Pro 6 Power introduces all kinds of powerful tools and techniques and explains things in a way that even novice users can understand.

Unlike most books that take you through a quick tour of the tools and a few basic tutorials, Paint Shop Pro 6 Power does that and more. Instead of using black and white photos to represent images, the tutorials and explanations are accompanied by color photos which give you a much more visual understanding of what is happening while learning a particular technique.

The author covers PSP effects, deformations, filters, and then goes into selections, masks, and channels. Some examples of the things  you'll learn about include:

The author continues with creating your own textures, sculpture effect patterns, brushes, picture tubes, and picture frames. This book is very effective at showing you all the things that can be done with Paint Shop Pro 6 and it shows you in a way that you can easily follow. 

This book also covers many basic and advanced image and photo editing techniques. Paint Shop Pro 6 Power is well written and organized. Some things are outlined with step by step instructions and others are explained with text and photos.

Included with the book is a companion CD which includes the book in e-book form. Also on the CD are sample graphics, sample filters, and an evaluation version of Paint Shop Pro 6.

The author recommends that you be familiar with the basic tools in Paint Shop Pro 6 or another similar image editing package.
