Webspace Professional 2.0

Everyone uses a browser of one type or another. Giage has
taken the browser one step forward for the person who wishes to do more
than view and save web pages. Its' product, Webspace 2.0 allows for the
effective management of the information found on the web as well as
allowing for management one's personal information as well, with a very
good integration between the two.
With
Webspace you can integrate web pages and their information with e-mails,
files, pictures, people, companies, and any notes you have about all of
these things. Webspace integrates with Microsoft Outlook, allowing for
access of Outlook within WebSpace's main window, also allowing for viewing, copying, and pasting of over 250 different file
formats. Webspace features integration. It includes a browser, not of
the capability of Netscape 4.7 or Explorer 5.0 such as an
AutoComplete function, and customizable toolbar, but
a definitely improved browser from Webspaces' earlier version, and does
now allow for a fullscreen mode. Below you see some of the main features
highlighted in yellow:

You can drag any site from the main browser on the right to the
organizer on the left, placing it in any catagory that you wish for
future reference. The Organizer looks a great deal like Windows
Explorer, allowing you to add notes and generally save your data in PIM
like fashion: one location--all your data, and easy access to the web as
you begin to use it. You can place your information in several different
places at the same time and if you make changes in one of the folders,
it will automatically make the changes universally. Finally, if you so
choose, you can publish any of the Portfolios that you have made either
by emailing them or posting them on the Web to be viewed by almost any
browser.
This is a bright product with a good deal of potential for the future.
Being intrigued with this product, I asked the company what its
commitment to continuously improving its browser in conjunction with
its overall commitment to combining web and non-web data. According to
Timm Martin, founder and CTO of Giage, the plan for WebSpace is
threefold:
* Continue to refine existing capabilities to make the
process of managing information quicker and easier.
* Add additional capabilities (like auto-complete and web
page tracking) to make WebSpace a more complete solution for the
entire information lifecycle.
* Support other browsers and platforms, like Netscape,
Macintosh, and Palm.
This is a good piece of software with an excellent idea for the
information age.
