Preparing
for the Photoshop 5 ACE Exam? Then what better way than using the
guide developed by Adobe Systems Certification team? You are provided
with ACE practice exams to help you assess your current knowledge
and proficiency.
This
guide is for the intermediate to advanced level Photoshop User.
You'll
find a list of all the Domain and objectives that Adobe expects candidates
to understand thoroughly before designating the ACE's.
Each
chapter contains exercises designed to help you master the concepts
you need to know along with quizzes to test yourself.
A
list of the topics and objectives for the Exam are listed and then
you get at them. Very thorough and easy to understand descriptions
with illustrations of the features of Photoshop 5.0
I
specifically wanted to see how the authors handled the spot color
instructions because I've seen where the Photoshop manual is quoted
by other authors even when there is a mistake, which there is in this
area. Well you'll be pleased to know they got it right, the transparency
slider affects on screen representation not the printed output.
Then
I checked the DCS 2.0 file format, this was a bit sketchy. It was
explained what it was but not enough detail about all the options.
For people like me who have not used Quark and are not familiar with the
DCS 2.0 format the choices are confusing.
There
is even a chapter on Web and Video production. Overall this is an
extremely well done guide and quite thorough. Even if ACE Certification
isn't your goal this is a terrific resource for Mastering Photoshop
5.
