and Out Photoshop
Welcome to Photoshop 5.0 1 and 2

The
Inside and Out Series currently consists of 7 video tapes. All of
the nuances of Photoshop are taught by using advanced visual techniques.
We'll be looking at them in pairs. The two we will be looking at are
Photoshop Inside and Out Welcome to 5.0
When
you are endeavoring to Master a professional program you want to know
that you are being instructed by Masters. That is why I have decided
to include the Bios or Credentials
of the three gentlemen who host these videos, but they are so impressive
they fill an entire page so click on Credentials above to view.
These
two tapes, despite the name of Welcome, are not for the absolute beginner.
If you want to start at the beginning then please purchase the Fundamental
videos first. These two tapes cover the newest features of Photoshop
5 and are packed with great instruction!
To
be prepared to use the full potential of Photoshop, easy to follow
instructions are provided for setting up the color preferences and
gamma settings. All the ins and outs of using editable text layers
are demonstrated as well as working with the improved layers, aligning
layers and layer effects.
There
is extensive coverage of the History palette, history brush and snapshot
features. You'll see how to best use each tool, and how to conserve
on Ram. Step-by Step demonstrations are given for taking and using
snapshots, why and when they should be used. There are lots of ideas
provided of what to do with these tools. I really liked the example
of a man where using the history brush you are able to add sharpness
just to his face without distorting other parts of the image.
The
other very notable section is on the Spot Color channel. There is
an error even in the Photoshop manual concerning the use of the opacity
control that you'll see. I have never seen coverage as complete on
the Spot Color channel as I saw here. It piqued my interest so I started
checking my many Photoshop books, only two even came close, but none with the depth of this training.
Some
of the other skills you'll learn are using action enhancements, 16
bit operations, 3D transfer filter, make custom grayscale and even
discover an interesting glitch in the contact sheet command.
Helping
users solve real-world imaging problems is what these videos are all
about, in the process you'll learn the techniques required to weave
your own magic.
