This is a good book for the
beginning Rhino user. The first part of the book covers the user
interface, some of the tools and how to use them. The
introductions to the interface tools are rather short, but understandable
if you have the program open while you are reading. (A demo of the
program comes on the CD that accompanies the book.)
The last half or so of the book has
tutorials that teach you how to use the tools you were introduced to in
the first part of the book. Some of the tutorials are easy and some are
difficult. The difficulty of each tutorial will depend on your level of
knowledge of basic 3D modeling.
I was extremely intrigued by the
chapter on Digitizing a Face. I had no idea how much work goes into
creating that particular type of model. Although I don't think I'll be a
model for digitizing anytime soon, it was a very informative chapter.
Other tutorials include building a
camera, a dragonfly, applying curves to a surface and more.
There is an appendix that describes how
to customize the user interface to your liking.
This is a good book to get you up and
moving with Rhino and good for learning some 3D techniques. If you are
planning on using Rhino for your 3D modeling this will be a good desktop
