NORTON InternetSecurity 2000 (family
edition)

Anyone who knows and uses Norton's line
of software knows the great benefits of the tools Norton provides for
keeping a computer up and running and virus free. It was only a matter
of time before Norton took on the Internet as well and provided the same
security for Internet users that it has provided for a decade for those
using the PC. In a very short matter
of time Norton has already moved to the head of the class in Internet
Protection, its InternetSecurity 2000 is already the leading security
software, and one of the top selling pieces of software of any kind...and
for good reason. If you wish to keep your children safe while using the
Internet, keep hackers off your PC, keep your information private and
secure, keep others from tracking and using your internet activity to
their ends, and finally if you wish to block ads and pop up windows that
can litter a computer on the internet, Norton again, provides a
complete and easy to use system of protection.
Though the Internet is a great means of educating our
children, there are some great horrors involved in children logging on
to web sites of a greatly objectionable nature or landing in a chat room
where they could be lured by some twisted mind into revealing something
about themselves that could place them in actual physical danger.
Norton's InternetSecurity 2000 Family edition allows the adult of the
household the ability to block ALL objectionable web sites and chat
rooms as well as setting up separate accounts for each child that will
provide your child with sites you approve of without you having to look
over their shoulder every second to see where they have gone. I
might add that safety features of this kind are not just for parents.
Often, under the guise of complete innocence, I have been sent an email
that looked quite innocent but was linked to a quite objectionable site
when you click on the link the email provided. There are many people who
do not even want to give an opportunity for these sites to appear on our
screens. Norton protects us from inadvertently clicking on these
sites.
Again, protection is much more extensive than blocking
unwanted web sites from coming up. Today hackers have such a knowledge
of the internet and computers that with some comparative ease they can
access our computers for their own amusement, actually wrecking our
systems, deleting our files, or seeking our valuable information for
their own ends. Norton controls both incoming and outgoing Internet
connections, alert us to any attempts by these hackers to access our
computers and also detailing in a log the source of such connections.
Another aspect of the program is to prevent households
from accidentally sending credit-card numbers and other data of this
kind of confidential nature over an insecure connection which can allow
others to intercept our data, card numbers, phone numbers and email
addresses without our knowledge.
Also, Norton prevents "cookies" which are
small text files from being placed on our computers which allow Web
servers to remember information about us. These "cookies"
while helpful in some situations, do give concerns for our privacy
rather than allowing companies all sorts of information about us.
Finally, Norton prevents endless banner
pop-ups which
are both clutter on a computer and slow down its overall speed on the
Internet.
All one needs to do is install Norton and it is
basically ready to go. Simply check the boxes in the initial program
that you wish to have security in and your system is protected:

As seen below, Norton security provides several
products of this nature, the Family security being the most extensive:

Please note below how easy it is to provide security
from hackers:
And also to keep your information private:
Do we really have to list every site we wish to
prevent our children from accessing? No...Norton has done that for us in
categories, and is continuously updating its prevention for us as we log
onto its LIVEUPDATE on a regular basis:

You can also note below how easy
the ad blocking process is:
Finally, we all know how easy it is to get a virus
over the Internet, sent via email, or download as a part of some
legitimate piece of software we are accessing. Norton has included its
excellent AntiVirus software in this package:
Anyone who uses the
Internet will benefit from Norton's proven record of reliability in every
aspect of computer upkeep provided by this software. The peace of mind
from knowing your computer is protected by such a company is well worth
its quite reasonable price.
