Using PathDeform to Curve Text (WSM) - 3ds max 4 Tutorial

Select the TOP viewport. Create a circle with a RADIUS of 100.

In the FRONT viewport, create text with a size of 25.

EXTRUDE the text using -5.

Select LOCAL.

In Animation Modifiers, select PathDeform. Click on PICK PATH then click on the CIRCLE. Click on the Y axis then the X axis. You should see a circular GIZMO appear. Adjust the spinner to 25 to see the effect then revert back.

Select STRETCH and put in a value to see what happens.

Click on ROTATION and apply a value.

Click on TWIST and change the value.

Here's another twist on TWIST.

Revert all the above and select Flip to view the reaction.

Select the PathDeform GIZMO. Move the PATH to see what happens.

Adjust RADIUS for further shape changes.
