Let's start by creating a box object with Length, Width, and Height segments set to 3 each.
Next, right-click on the screen and choose Convert to Editable Poly.
When you convert it to a poly, you should see on the right-hand side a variety of options pop up such as Selection and Edit Geometry.
Under Selection click on the Poly button.

In the top viewport select the middle square.
Click on the button that says Extrude.
In the Perspective view, pull upward.
Click on Bevel.
Pull upward and then inward.

Select two squares on the side and extrude inward.
Click on the Outline button.
Pull inward.
Select all three boxes above the last part we worked on.
Click on Hinge From Edge.
From the top viewport pull outward.
Click on Inset.
Pull to the center.
Press the Extrude button and pull inward. This has been a very brief introduction to Polys.
