Masking Tom in the Box - Adobe After Effects Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood February 15, 2004 | 1 | | For this demonstration I'll use the graphic below. |  | 2 | | First thing we want to do is open a new Adjustment layer. Go to Layer>New>Adjustment. In the Effects panel, type in hue to bring up the Hue/Saturation filter. |   | 4 | | Set Colorize Hue to 234 degrees. |    | 7 | | Select Send Layer to Back. |  | 8 | | Now drag it up one layer. |  | 9 | | Click to solo the two bottom layers which will hide the other layers. |  | 10 | | Select the Oval tool and create an oval. |  | 11 | | Highlight the Adjustment layer and hit the letter M to reveal the mask shape. |   | 12 | | Check Invert to invert. Set the layer to Subtract. |   | 13 | | Hit the letter F in the layer to bring up Mask Feather. Set feathering to 168. Hit the letter M to get back to the Masking Shape. Double-click the shape to move it. Click on the clock. Go to frame 2. Move the shape. Go to frame 4 and move the shape again.
