Amazing Optics Compensation - Adobe After Effects Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood April 1, 2004 | 1 | | Using the Optics Compensation effect can result in amazing animation results. Below is the default view of the effect and the sun we'll use for this demonstration. | | 2 | | Using FOV set at 112 causes the sun to shrink in a twisted manner somewhat like a fisheye. | | 3 | | At this point if we check Reverse Lens Distortion, the sun distorts outward. | | 4 | | Select FOV Orientation and choosing Diagonal causes the sun to twist in on itself. | | 5 | | Changing the View Center also distorts the sun in a variety of ways. | | 6 | | Checking Optimal Pixels distorts the sun in a more perspective manner. Notice that after Optimal Pixels it says that this feature invalidates reversal. | | 7 | | Selecting Max 2X from Resize super distorts perspectively. If you choose Max 4X, this pushes the sun off of the screen edges. | | 8 | | First keyframe: set it up with the specifications below. | | 9 | | Move to keyframe 4. Check Field of View and set to 0. | | 10 | | Try different settings for various animations. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
