Animating Bug Wings - Adobe After Effects Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood May 1, 2004 | 1 | | It's real easy to make the wings of a bug flap up and down. | | 2 | | You should have three layers for this demonstration: the body and the two wing layers. | | 3 | | Start by selecting the left wing layer. | | 4 | | Now select the Pan tool from the Tool palette. | | 5 | | With the Pan tool selected, move the anchor point to the intersecting part of the wing. | | 6 | | Hit the S key to access Scale for the first key frame. | | 7 | | Move over a few spaces in the first frame and set a new keyframe with a the checkmark. | | 8 | | Move the wing starting from the left and move inward towards the body. | | 9 | | Change the Frame Rate under Composition Settings to 15 Frames per second. | | 10 | | With the layer still selected, check the Motion Blur button and the Motion Blur switch. | | 11 | | Make adjustments to the keyframes and then select and copy them all along the timeframe. Use the same method as shown to also do the other wing. | | 12 | | Here is the basic view of the animation. | | 13 | | To be able to using the animation in a much easier fashion, use Pre-compose. Specify a new composition. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
