Pearls - Adobe Illustrator Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood April 1, 2003 | 1 | | Let's begin by selecting the Ellipse tool. | | 2 | | Go ahead and create a complete circle by pressing the Shift key and dragging. Be sure and use a light gray fill color and no stroke. | | 3 | | With the circle still selected, click on the Mesh tool. | | 4 | | Set up the mesh as you see below. | | 6 | | Drop that gray with the Mesh tool still selected onto the 3rd corner point located in the center. Deselect that point. | | 7 | | Now select a light blue. | | 8 | | Drop the light blue at the center 2nd point. Deselect. | | 9 | | Select white and drop it on the point next to the light blue point we just did. Deselect. | | 11 | | Drop onto the two bottom points that are located just above and inside the bottom of the circle | | 12 | | Select an off white. Drop it onto the 3rd center point located on the right side. | | 13 | | With the Mesh tool selected go ahead and adjust the points. | | 14 | | Select a darker brown and drop it onto the center absolute bottom point on the right. | | 15 | | Open your Symbols palette. Drop the pearl we made onto it by dragging. | | 16 | | Drag that pearl back onto the page. Press the Shift key and reduce it. Hold the Alt key down and begin duplicating the pearl. | | 17 | | Create a new Art Brush. Duplicate the oval to have a spare. Select one of the ovals, find the art brush we just created and apply it to the oval. This will make the clasp. You can reduce as necessary. | | 18 | | Draw a simple hook and paste behind and you are done. | Copyright 2003, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
