| Jacquelin Vanderwood July 15, 2003 | 1 | | Make sure your stroke color is black. Select the Pen tool. We'll begin drawing the bucket that will be on the snowman's head. | | 2 | | Draw part of the head and then the nose. | | 3 | | Next we draw the top of the second snowball and the arm. | | 4 | | Continue with the lower part of the second snowball and complete the third snowball on up around to the lower right side of the second snowball. | | 5 | | Draw the right arm of the snowman and continue up into the neck area. | | 6 | | Finish off the lower part of the right side of the head and the handle of the bucket. Connect the ends or close the path. | | 7 | | Draw the inside part of the handle. | | 8 | | Press Control+A to select all. Click on the Subtract from shape area button. We now have one piece. | | 9 | | Reverse the color scheme so that instead of having black as the stroke we now have black as the fill. Lock that layer and create a new one. | | 10 | | Starting with the middle pink, draw out he shape of the nose. Select a light pink and draw a highlight, then choose a darker value and draw the shadow area. You're done with the nose. | | 11 | | Draw with an off yellow (ochre) for the main body of the bucket. Choose a lighter shade for the top. Select the main body of the bucket and choose the Knife tool. Cut in a desired shadow area. Select that area and fill with a darker yellow or ochre color as shown below. | | 12 | | With light green draw in the head as shown below. | | 13 | | Continue with that color and draw in the second snowball of the body. Do the same for the third snowball. | | 14 | | Select the Knife tool again. Cut into each section as shown below and then change the colors. | | 15 | | Change to a black fill and draw in the eyes and mouth then select a light yellow and add the highlights to the eyes. | | 16 | | Draw brown inside the arms. | | 17 | | Unlock the previous layer and select all and group. You now have your own snowman. | Copyright 2003, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
