Drawing a Spool of Thread and a Needle - Adobe Illustrator Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood August 15, 2003 | 1 | | To begin drawing use a gray stroke for this lesson. Select the Pen tool and draw a leaf as you see below. |  | 2 | | Create a gradient similar to the one below and apply it to the leaf. |  | 3 | | Create the actual branch. |  | 4 | | Select the leaf and move into place at the bottom of the branch. |  | 5 | | Duplicate the leaf, reduce it's size and move it to the top. |  | 6 | | Duplicate that leaf and rotate it. Stick it at the top of the branch. |  | 7 | | Select the two leaves on the side. |  | 8 | | Set Blending Options to 6 steps. |   | 9 | | Create the blend. Select Expand. |  | 10 | | Use the Reflection tool and make a copy. Move that set of leaves into place.
