We start by double-clicking on the Symbol Sprayer Tool.

That action opens the Symbolism Tools Options panel where we can set controls for the sprayer.
Here we can set the diameter of the brush we have selected by moving the arrow up or down the slider.
Intensity sets the amount of change.
The Symbol Set Density tells us how tightly we want to pack the symbols together.
Here we have the options for the Symbol Sprayer which include Scrunch, Size, Spin, Screen, Stain, and Style.
If we click on the Symbol Shifter we see information at the bottom which tells us what to do and what happens when we do it. This also applies to the Symbol Scruncher shown below.
If we click on Symbol Sizer we see Proportional Resizing available and Resizing Affects Density which is fairly self-explanatory. (Symbol Spinner has no shortcuts.)
Symbol Stainer let's us know that holding the Alt key down will decrease the amount of colorization while holding the Shift key down will keep the amount of colorization constant.
The Symbol Screener tells to hold the Alt key down to decrease transparency.
The Symbol Styler informs us to hold the Alt key down to decrease the amount of style and hold the Shift key down to keep the style constant.
Also, we can define the method to use whether it be Average, User Defined, or Random.
So let's set the options and see what happens.
Here I've used all of the options I could to manipulate the symbol. Go ahead and change the parameters in the options panel and see what happens.
