Here is a graphic that I created in Illustrator. As you can see, there are only 4 colors. For screen printing, it is important to consider how many colors you are going to use because each color you add will increase the cost of printing.
Secondly, make sure that the document is set to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black).
Here we see that the text has not be converted to an outline.
Make sure you do that before saving because you want everything set up as a graphic.
At this point we want to do a Save As.
Save as an EPS file. I would also suggest
I also selected Include Document Thumbnails. At this point, you're ready to submit the artwork to the printer.
One last thing, take note of each color's pantone name as the printer will need this information.
