To make this neon-like lettering, I started with a font called Family Guy.
First I turned the lettering red and made duplicates.
Apply a red stroke at 10 pixels.
Feather it at .1.
Turn the lettering to a lighter shade.
Turn the other copies to white.
Drag the top lettering down over the other.
Use Subtract from shapes area.
Shade the highlight to yellow and resize to fit the lettering better. Feather it at .02.
Using the Round Cap and Round Join on the stroke, set the stroke width to 20. Apply a feather of .1. Convert to outlines.
Drag a copy up and change it's color.
Invert the letter to a stroke. Do the same thing we did on the last letter for the highlight and make the feathering .05. Use white.
Use a copy of the lettering and use a darker color then feather it at .05 again.
Finally, make a copy of the back letters and paste, then change to a stroke at 10 pixels and apply feathering. Cut out two more letters for the bottom highlight area. Change the color to a blue highlight. Use the Subtract from shapes area again. Apply feathering as well and move into place.
