In this tutorial we'll see some of the different ways we can make Rotate, Revolve and Warp behave. Tutorial Includes project files.
I want to start with a rectangle 8 points x 8 points.

Now open Rotate.

Let's set the parameters as shown below.

This is what we have so far.

Now open Revolve.

Follow the settings below.

now choose Expand Appearance.

This is what we made.

Let's create two squares the way we did before and use Add to Shape Area located under Pathfinder. Expand it.

Set these Rotate parameters.

Type in these Revolve settings.

We've designed an interesting futuristic piece that could very well be used in a logo or in other various designs.

We could add an Inner Glow to it.

We get this almost angelic form.

Using a rounded rectangle, apply Revolve as shown below.


I duplicated the piece twice more and applied Shell Upper.


If we create a small straight stroked line and applied these settings, we'll get a ring.


With all various to use Revolve, Rotate and Warp, it's amazing what you can create.
