If you've ever wanted to draw ribbons in Illustrator but had trouble doing it, then this tutorial will show you how.
Start by selecting the Pencil tool and a stroke color. No fill color is needed.

Select 3D and choose Extrude & Bevel.

Start by selecting Front.

Let's also select Preview.

Select the side edge and turn.

Select the top edge and turn.

Move the Perspective slider to 143 degrees.

Change the Surface lighting to Diffuse Shading and moving the light to the top area.

Here's the result of the ribbon we created so far.

Go ahead and duplicate the ribbon then use the Reflect Tool and choose Vertical and Copy.

Let's draw another design with the Pencil Tool.

Go back into 3D mode and set the parameters as shown below to the left of the box.

Set Extrude and Bevel to 10 pt.

Move the lighting as before.

The ribbon should look like this.

Draw anothe line.

Follow the settings below.

By arranging the items where you want them, this method of making ribbons is very fascinating.
