In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a spiced up pie chart.
Select the Pie Graph tool. Add in some numbers to the spreadsheet.

The pie will look like the one below.

Get rid of the stroke. Use the Direct Select tool and the Warm swatch palette and fill each section with an interesting color.

With the Selection tool select the pie, and then open 3D Extrude and put in the coordinates as shown below.

The pie should now look like this.

Use the Direct Selection tool to move a piece out.

Use the Rounded Rectangle tool to create a label. Change the colors as you copy them to each piece.

Add text to each label. Make the text white. Select the text and convert it to outlines. Select the label and the text and apply a Drop Shadow. Try to make a color that will match with the particular pie piece.

It should look something like this. I used the Stencil font at 8 pts.

I created a new layer and dropped it below the current layer. Then using the Star tool, I created a four-point star and filled it with a spicy color. Then I applied Arc to the star.

Then I applied Roughen to the star as well.

Then I applied 3D Extrude & Bevel to the star with the settings below.

At this point I called it done.
