In this tutorial I'll show you how to create a table.
I'm starting with some text I typed in. For each column I tabbed over to align the text.

Under Type check Show Hidden Characters.

Here are the hidden characters. Notice that sometimes there are two tabs.

Using the Text tool, delete those extra tabs.

Select the text.

Go to Table and select Convert Text to Table.

The table converter will use tabs to align the items correctly. Change Row Separator to Paragraph.

You should now have a table that looks like the one below.

With the Text tool selected click on the left edge of the top row.

Click on a color in the Swatches panel.

To change the color of the text, use the Text tool and select each text item and click on a swatch color.

To pull in the extended part of frame, choose Fitting, then choose Fit Frame to Content.
