Skinning - Maya 8.5 Tutorial
Jacquelin Vanderwood

September, 2007

In this tutorial I'll show you how to skin a model.

I'll use this simple model to demonstrate skinning.

Go to the side view. Hit the number 4 to see the wireframe.

Next select the Joint Tool.

Make several joints and hit Enter when you have completed that step. Select the model and one joint.

Now choose Skin and click on Bind Skin>Smooth Bind and click on the box.

Then select Edit and Reset Settings to work clean.

Now that we have skinned the geometry, we can choose different joints to move the model.
