Using the Bump2 Utility - Maya 8.5 Tutorial
Jacquelin Vanderwood

October, 2007

In this tutorial I'll show you how to use the Bump2 Utility to achieve dual textures.

Let's start with a box.

Open Hypershade and click anisotropic.

Click on the checkerboard box next to Bump Mapping.

Under 2D Textures select Fractal.

Under fractal1 in the Attribute Editor click on the checkerboard box next to Default Color.

Under 3D Textures select Crater.

Under bump2d1 go to Effects and check Provide 3d info.

After adding some color to anisotropic1 Common Material Attributes, I then rendered in Mental Ray. As you can see, we have two textures that have been bump mapped.
