Frontal Head Structure Template Sketch - Drawing Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood May 15, 2004 | 1 | | In this tutorial I want to show you the basics of drawing a head template. We first begin by sketching a circle. Then draw another line below that one for the bottom part of the head. It should resemble an egg shape. | | 2 | | Now draw straight line down the center. | | 3 | | An adult human head is basically sectioned off into 3rds. Draw two lines to indicate this now. | | 4 | | The next two lines indicate the center of the eyes as well as the corners of the mouth. Sketch these in. | | 5 | | These two lines are the markers for the corner of the eyes as well as the corners of the nose. | | 6 | | The triangle represents the nose. | | 7 | | Midway between the side of the head and the center of the eye, begin the almond shape for the eye. Sketch both sides. | | 8 | | The V-shape on the top lip should coincide with the inner parts of the nose. | | 9 | | The bottom parts of the ears should line up with the bottom part of the nose. | | 10 | | The upper neck area should line up with the jawbone. | | 11 | | Draw in the neck muscles lines that approximate the form of a V. The completed template below is the one you should use while you learn to draw. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
