Sketch and Draw the Man Stylized - Adobe Illustrator/Drawing Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood June 15, 2004 | 1 | | Get your pencil out and make the simple sketch below. |  | 2 | | Scan and use the Place command in Illustrator in a new document. Lock the layer containing the scan. Create a new layer. Using the Pen tool draw around the head and shown. Make sure Round Caps and Join are selected in the Stroke dialogue |  | 3 | | Outline the whole figure with stroke. |  | 4 | | Draw out and join from beneath the design as shown below then change them to a fill. |   | 5 | | Continue making the design around the body as shown. |  | 6 | | Select the entire drawing. Now open Path and choose Outline Stroke. |  | 7 | | Select the cloths and shoes and apply a 1 pt. stroke. |  | 8 | | Lock the layer and create a new layer below it. Draw the shape of the shirt. |  | 9 | | Fill in the rest of the clothing and the shoes. |  | 10 | | Fill in the skin and hair. |  | 11 | | Select the shirt and apply Create Gradient Mesh. |  | 12 | | Apply two different colors to the shirt. Apply a gradient to the pants. |  | 13 | | On a new layer below the man create a 50 pt. star in the last gradient. Duplicate it and change it's color.
