Rough Sketch Storyboard - Drawing Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood June 15, 2004 | 1 | | The first thing we need to do is set up a storyboard grid to use. Below is a sample that you can redraw easily. | | 2 | | Start in the first rectangle by sketching out the stick figure you'll use. | | 3 | | Next, work out the body using double lines. | | 4 | | In rectangle 3 use ovals to further detail the figure. | | 5 | | Use coils to create more depth of character. | | 6 | | In this step use cylinders to create a tighter body structure. | | 7 | | Now you're ready to develop you own style for the character. Try drawing the actual character. | | 8 | | In rectangle 7 work out the light and shade for the figure. | | 9 | | In this step you'll need to work out the head and light. The head is divided into thirds as shown below. | | 10 | | For the hand use ovals and create what will be a representation of the hand. The fingers are created with ovals and in thirds as well. Use this process to develop all aspects of the characters you'll use for the storyboard. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
