Before I began this project I sketched a simple line outline then I used a basic crosshatch motion to fill in the pear. For the shadow I used light sweeping strokes until I got it to look like a shadow should.

In this step I began to fill in the drawing by first using Canary Yellow in the body of the pear. For the stem I chose Terra Cotta. In the shadow area I used Indigo Blue. I used fairly light strokes and built up the color.

I selected Apple Green and went lightly over the body of the pear. I then repeated this step to bring out more of the green color. I used Parma Violet and added to the shadow area. For the stem I used Dark Brown to fill in more of the shadow area.
Now I selected Grass Green, a darker green, and continued to add to the body of the pear building up the all-around color. For the stem I selected Tuscan Red and added more life to it. For the shadow are I used Indigo Blue and built up the darker shadow areas. Continuing in the shadow area I used Lemon Yellow to affect a somewhat green cast. I then selected Dark Brown and added dots into the body of the pear.

For the final step I used Light Peach in the stem to fill it in. For the body of the pear I used Olive Green sparingly. Continuing on the body I changed to Peacock Blue and darkened the pear in certain areas. I used Olive Green to add a little detail around the brown dots as well.
