Lights - Corel Paint Shop Pro Tutorial
| Vikki Olds | 1 | | The lighting effects in Paint Shop Pro are awesome. As promised in the Saturation Enhancement tutorial I've brought this image into this tutorial to show how easy it is to get great lighting effects for your images with Paint Shop Pro. You'll find lighting under the Effects menu. Effects>Illumination Effects>Lights. | | 2 | | In the saturation tutorial I upped the saturation on the above image because I knew I was going to light it and I wanted extra strength in the places that would get really dark. | | 3 | | There are many options to play with in the Lights panel. There are many presets also. This image is being altered using the default preset of soft(bottom) light. No other changes were necessary. | | 4 | | The result is very stunning. If you are creating an image and you know you are going to light it remember that the light will change the background colors of your image. | | 5 | | Above is an image with no saturation enhancements at all. | | 6 | | I altered the default setting for the soft(lower left) preset by reducing the darkness and using a slightly warmer color than the default. | | 7 | | Using a warm color and lowering the darkness has lighted as well as added skin tone to the image. | | 8 | | Changing the cone shape, the darkness and position of the light can produce dramatic results. | | 9 | | She still has her skin tone but has much more highlight in a larger area from the adjustments I made to the settings. | | 10 | | The above and below image were done using the Flash preset. In the above image just the cone size was enlarged to get the effect above. | | 11 | | In the above image, there were no changes. The Flash preset was used. As you can see you can achieve some very stunning effects with the lighting tools available in Paint Shop Pro. Because of the preview, you can play and quickly see the alterations made to settings before applying them to your image. | Copyright 2002, Vikki Olds, All Rights Reserved |
