Creating a pattern for Sculpture Effect - Corel Paint Shop Pro Tutorial
| Vikki Olds | 1 | | Creating patterns for the Sculpture effect is very easy. Create a blank image 350 x 350. Add some color to it. Below I used the Chalk brush and dabbed color on the canvas. | | 2 | | Go to Effects>Reflection Effects>Pattern. Instantly you have a pattern created from your canvas. Alter settings to suite your needs. Click ok and save the new image to your Paint Shop Pro Patterns folder normally located in C:\Program Files\Jasc Software\Paint Shop Pro\Patterns. | | 3 | | Below is the first pattern. | | 4 | | I used a duplicate copy of the original image and went to Effects>Reflection Effects>Kaleidoscope to create another image. Save it to your Patterns folder. | | 5 | | You can also apply all kinds of effects to those patterns and save them also as patterns. See the images below. All have a different type of effect applied and then were saved to my Patterns folder. | | 6 | | To use these Patterns with the Sculpture effect create an image 500 x 100 or whatever size is needed to place your text in. It doesn't matter what color the text is. | | 7 | | Go to Effects>Texture Effects>Sculpture and choose one of the new Patterns you created. | | 8 | | You'll automatically have a very nice Sculpture effect with your new patterns. | | 9 | | You can apply the Pattern to your background to make the text appear to be raised from the background. | Copyright 2002, Vikki Olds, All Rights Reserved |
