Feathering Selections - Corel Paint Shop Pro tutorial

Vikki Dawson 1 Combining images by feathering a selection is a very easy way to get a sophisticated look without a lot of work. Below are the three images I wanted to us. I wanted to add a little more to the Zork image and I thought a couple of children's faces would be just the thing to personalize the image a bit more. We're going to take the children's faces from their respective images and impose them upon the Zork image. The first thing you need to do is find at least two images. One for the main image and one that you want to impose on the main image and open them in Paint Shop Pro. 2 On the Toolbar you need to choose the Selection tool. In the Tool Options palette you want to set the Selection Type to Ellipse.      3 Draw the ellipse around the part of the image you want to feather. Go to Selections>Modify>Feather 4 In the Feather Selection dialog set the Number of pixels to 20. 5 Go to Edit>Copy. Go to Edit>Paste>Paste as a new image.      6 If you have more than one image you want to impose on the main image go back to step 3 and do step 3 - 5 again.      7 Select one of your newly feathered images and go to Edit>Copy. Select the main image and go to Edit>Paste>Paste as a new layer. Position the new layer where you want it. If you have more than one feathered image that you want to impose on the main image do step 7 again. Above is my final image with the two feathered images imposed upon the main image.
