Straighten those images and photos - Corel Paint Shop Pro 8 Tutorial

Vikki Olds August 1, 2003 1 Being a person who scans sheet music, I have found the new straighten tool to be an awesome way to get my scanned music straight. It is necessary for it to be as straight as possible before running it through music sequencing software. The new straighten tool helps me do this without having to work with the deform and rotate tools and guess what rotation I needed as I used to in previous versions of Paint Shop Pro. The image I will use is below. It has a slight tilt to the left. 2 The Straighten tool is on the tool palette and when you click on it you will see the following on an upper tool bar.      3 The image will now have a line with two handles on it. You can drag the line to move it around to line it up with what you need to straighten and then use the drag handles to move it into place to get a precise rotation angle. 4 I've moved the line up in the screen shot below and moved the drag handles to line up with one of the lines in the image. 5 All I have to do now is click the "check mark" on the tool bar and my image has now been rotated just the right amount to straighten it perfectly. The new straighten tool will save you lots of time in trying to guess rotation values by trial and error. You can use it to correct photos and scans or image that needs to be oriented properly.
