Retro Effect – Paint Shop Pro Tutorial

In this tutorial we will show you how to make a retro effect in Paint Shop Pro.

First, open an existing photo

Now, lets decrease the color depth to 2 colors (Image/Decrease Color Depth/2 Color Palette)

Now, use the settings below:

After that, increase the Color Depth back to 16 Million colors: Image/Increase Color Depth/RGB-16 bits/channel)

Then, apply Blur More filter (Adjust/Blur/Blur More)

After that we will apply the adjustment curve layer (Layers/New Adjustment Layer/Curves)

Now follow the settings below:

Now we will add another Adjustment Curve Layer (Layers/New Adjustment Layer/Curves) using the settings below:

After that we will add a new raster layer (Layers/New Raster Layer)

Now lets select the Floodfill tool for the current layer with solid yellow #ffff00. 

Now, lets change the layer's blend mode to Multiply
