Let's Make Ornaments - Corel Paint Shop Pro Tutorial
| Donnamarie J. Walker | 1 | | Unzip the files needed for this tutorial and save in your favorite folder. Open all of your images in Paint Shop Pro. You can export them as tubes or use as is. If you use "as is" be sure to duplicate your images and close the originals. | | 2 | | Open a new image 300 x 300>Transparent. | | 3 | | Copy and paste your pearl white ornament ball as a new layer and center it. | | 4 | | Copy and paste the image you are going to use to decorate your ornament as a new layer and adjust so that the image is centered on your ornament ball. | | 5 | | Copy and paste the ornament hanger as a new layer and adjust so it sits on top of the ornament ball. Add a drop shadow with these settings. The shadow beneath the ornament hanger would not cast a large shadow.
Shadow Color - Black Opacity - 50% Blur - 2 Horizontal & Vertical - 1 | | 6 | | Copy and paste the ornament hook as a new layer and move the hook so it overlaps the hanger. Zoom in once or twice. Click on your Eraser Tool with a setting of 1 and erase a small section. This will make it appear that the hook is going through the hanger. | | 7 | | Add a drop shadow for the hook with the same settings as above. | | 8 | | If you are happy with with your ornament turn off visibility on Layer 1 then go to Layers>Merge>Merge All Visible. | | 9 | | Add a drop shadow with these settings .
Color - Black Opacity - 50% Blur - 5.2 Horizontal & Vertical - 2 | | 10 | | Click on Layer 1 for your background. Fill with color or pattern of your choice. To make a colored ornament, before merging layers, click on the ornament ball layer and go to Colors>Colorize and adjust the slider until you find a color you like. You can also use the Colors>Adjust Brightness & Contrast, or, Colors>Adjust Gamma Correction to make it darker or lighter. Play around with the settings.
