This is a Paint Shop Pro Selections tutorials. Download The Lady
Unicorn Selection file here. Unzip to your selection folder, or into
a folder of its own. Right click, copy and paste the Color Palette
as a new image, these are the colors we will be working with or you can use your own. Included in the instructions are the HTML Color Codes. Let's begin!

Open a new image 500 x 825 to give us room to work. You can crop any excess canvas after the tutorial is finished. We will work by first loading the selection, flood filling with black, contracting by 1 and filling with the next color throughout this tutorial. You can do this tutorial in PSP 6 or 7.

2 Set your foreground color to black, background to #808080, or the
gray color on your Palette. Add a new layer: Bottom_Hoof and load
the lady_unicorn_bottom_hoof.sel, fill with black, contract by 1 and
fill with gray. Go to Selections>Defloat and apply this Cutout:
Opacity: 44% - Color: Black - Blur: 13% - Horizontal/Vertical: 2.
Add Noise>3%>Uniform. Deselect. We will use this Cutout throughout the tutorial. Save your work.

Switch background color to #FFCCCC, or the Pale Pink. Add a new
layer: Dress and load the lady_unicorn_dress.sel, fill with black,
contract by 1, fill with Pink, Float, Cutout, change the Blur to 35, add Noise and Deselect.

3 Add new layer: Belt, switch background color to #CC3366, or the
Dark Pink, and load the lady_unicorn_belt, fill with black, contract,
fill with Dark Pink, Float, Cutout, change the Blur back to 13, add
Noise and Deselect. Save.

Switch your background color to the Pale Pink, add a new layer:
Right_Sleeve and load the lady_unicorn_sleeve_right.sel, fill, contract, fill again, float, cutout, noise and deselect.

4 Switch background color to white, new layer: Right_Leg and load the lady_unicorn_right_leg1.sel, fill with black, contract and fill with white, float, cutout, noise and deselect.

New layer: Left_Sleeve and load the lady_unicorn_sleeve_left1.sel,
fill with black, contract and fill with Pale Pink, float, cutout, noise and deselect. Save.

5 New layer: Left_Leg and load the lady_unicorn_left_leg1.sel, fill
with black, contract and fill with white, float, cutout, noise, deselect.

New layer: Hooves and load the lady_unicorn_hooves.sel, fill
with black, contract and fill with Dark Gray, float, cutout, noise and
deselect. Save.

6 New layer: Left_Sleeve2, switch background color to Pale Pink, load
the lady_unicorn_sleeve_left.sel, fill, contract, fill again, float, cutout, noise and deselect.

Click on the Hooves layer and add a new layer: Crown and load
the lady_unicorn_crown.sel, change the background color to the Yellow, #FFFF00, fill with black, contract by 1 and fill with yellow, float, cutout, noise and deselect. Save.

7 Switch background color to white, add a new layer: Face and load
the lady_unicorn_face.sel, fill with black, contract and fill with white, float, cutout, noise and deselect.

New layer: Face_Details, load the lady_unicorn_face_details.sel
and fill with black. You will have to click in the selection areas several times to fill in all areas. Deselect.

8 Switch your background color to #CC9933, Dark Gold, add a new
layer: Hair and load the lady_unicorn_hair.sel, fill with black, contract and fill with Dark Gold, float, cutout, noise, deselect. Move this layer under the face layer. Go back to the face layer and make it active, add another layer and load the lady_unicorn_hair_front.sel, and do the same steps as above. Save.

Switch color to #FFFFCC, Pale Yellow, and add a new layer: Horn,
load the lady_unicorn_horn.sel, fill with black, contract, fill with Pale Yellow, float, cutout, noise, deselect. You may have to erase some of the Lady Unicorn's front hair so the Horn isn't sitting on top of it, which I forgot to do in my finished image, and draw some lines on the Horn as shown in finished image.

9 Switch background color to White, add a new layer: Ear and load
the lady_unicorn_ear.sel, fill with black, contract, fill with white, float, cutout, noise, deselect.

Add a new layer: Details and load the lady_unicorn_details.sel, fill
with black. You will have to click inside most of the selections to fill, or use your paint brush, or, you can also draw these yourself. Click inside the two upper sleeve details with your Magic Wand, expand selection by 1, add another layer: Sleeve Fill, and fill with #CC3366. Pull this layer under the Details layer.

10 One more layer: Ear Blush, load the lady_unicorn_ear.sel, using
your Paint Brush, Size 16, Color: #CC3366, paint the blush. I know it looks too harsh so while still selected apply a Gaussian Blur of 5, use your Soften Tool around the edges, then lower the layer opacity to 65%. Save!

11 You can save here, duplicate the image and finish adding your special touches to make her your own by adding a background color or texture,  crop off the excess canvas, and don't forget to sign your work! Or you can merge all layers visible and export her as a new tube.
