Fun With Fish - Corel Painter Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood January 1, 2004 | 1 | | Start with a new layer. Select the Pen tool. In Fill Color, select Load Color Set and choose Vivid Spring. Select orange. |  | 2 | | Draw out the shape of a fun cartoony shaped fish. |  | 3 | | Use the Oval shape to create to shapes for the eye. |   | 4 | | Changing the color, draw in the top and bottom fins. |  | 5 | | Make the stroke active and change color for both the fill and outline. |  | 6 | | Using the same color scheme draw around the tail fins. |  | 7 | | Hold the Shift key down and select all of the relevant layers. |  | 8 | | Under Layers choose Drop and Select. |   | 9 | | Then select Lift Canvas to Water Color Layer. |   | 10 | | Make sure the fish is selected. Use the Magic Wand to select and then Invert if you have to make it selected. Choose the Soft Camel watercolor brush. Copy the settings below. Choose a darker orange and shadow in parts of the fish. Right-click on the layer and select Commit. Deselect fish. |    | 11 | | Select Erasers. Select Tapered Darkener 10. Begin adding shadowing to the piece. Then select Tapered Bleach 10 and highlight areas. You may want to decrease Opacity. |   | 12 | | Here is our fish.
