Puppy Face with an Airbrush - Corel Painter Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood February 15, 2004 | 1 | | To start making the puppy face, choose Fine Wheel Airbrush and follow the settings. | | 2 | | Create a not-so-perfect circle. | | 3 | | Make an upside down V for the muzzle. | | 4 | | Reduce the size of the brush and change the Opacity to 2%. Quickly draw in the lower mouth twice. It's a shadow, an indication. | | 5 | | Increase the size of the brush but keep the Opacity to 2%. Change to a middle gray. Block in the cheeks of the muzzle. | | 6 | | With the Eyedropper tool, select the dark gray we used before but leave the Opacity the same. Increase the size of the brush. Lay in some shadow areas for the eyes. | | 7 | | Decrease the size of the brush. Make the Opacity 59%. Select a semi-white color and block in the eyes. | | 8 | | Decrease the size of the brush and select a middle gray. Again, block in the eyes. | | 9 | | Decrease size of the brush again. Change to black. Leave the Opacity alone. Block in the pupils of the eyes. Use the same method and block in the white highlights. | | 10 | | For the nose, choose a gray pink color. Opacity 5%. Make a T. | | 11 | | Change the brush attributes by following the bar below. Increase the size of the brush. Change to an almost tan white color and block in some highlights in the main body of the head. | | 13 | | Use the Eyedropper to select the dark muzzle color. Block in the ears. | | 14 | | Change to the Detail Airbrush. Use a reduced brush size with approximately a 60% Opacity and block in the hair of the muzzle. | | 15 | | Under Photo select the Dodge brush. Remember to reduce and increase the size of the brush as necessary. I highlighted the tops of the ears, the top part of the highlighted area of the muzzle cheeks, the lower lip of the mouth, and the center of the nose. | | 16 | | Use the Saturation Add brush and add saturation to the chin, lower cheeks, above the eyes, under ears on the head, and in the center of the head. Open Apply Lighting and choose Splashy Colors. Press OK. Select Fade under Edit and set to 38%. | | 17 | | We're done. Now you can go ahead and embellish with background color, text, etc. | Copyright 2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
