Painting a Tropical Leaf - Corel Painter Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood March 1, 2004 | 1 | | To begin, choose Acrylic and Wet Detail Brush 5. Set the Size of the brush to approximately 13. |   | 2 | | Start with the green shown below. Use a background color of dark green. |   | 3 | | Beginning from the left tip, block in the lines shown below. |  | 4 | | Next, block in the lower lines. |   | 6 | | Change to Thin Distorto located under Distortion. |  | 7 | | Select the lowest point on the lower side and gently drag along the edge. |  | 8 | | Do the same for the top edge. |  | 9 | | Enlarge the brush to 30. Drag down in the middle. |  | 10 | | Change to Photo Dodge. Lighten in the pink area. |   | 11 | | Change to the Burn brush and make the necessary adjustments in size, etc. Paint along the edge all around the leaf. |   | 12 | | Reduce the size of the brush. Darken some of the pink area. Also darken down the center of the leaf. |  | 13 | | Darken the tip some more. |  | 14 | | Still using the Burn tool, make the necessary adjustments as shown below. |    | 17 | | Change brushes. Make the necessary changes to match the brush attributes. |    | 19 | | Block in the lighter branch highlight color. |  | 20 | | Again, change to a light brown. Reduce the size of the brush. Add more highlight. |  | 21 | | From Photo choose Add Grain and swipe at the branch once. |  | 22 | | Open Apply Lighting. Select Splashy Color. Adjust Ambient up to about .60. |   | 23 | | Continue making more leaves to add to the plant.
