Painting a Sketch of a Rat and a Fly - Corel Painter Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood March 1, 2004 | 1 | | I scanned the sketch through Photoshop then exported it as a transparent gif. I opened the sketch in Painter. Once the sketch is opened, choose Auto Select and select Current Color. | | 2 | | Go back to Select and choose Float. | | 3 | | Select Liquid Ink and Clumpy Ink 4. Drop this layer below the sketch. | | 4 | | Paint in the body of the rat. | | 5 | | Change to Smooth Bristle and the color pink. Add color into the ears, nose, mouth, feet, and tail. | | 6 | | Change color and choose the Sparse Camel brush. Sweep the brush into the bug once or twice. | | 7 | | Use the Smooth Round Nib and a color change to fill in the wings. Do the same thing for the eyes. | | 8 | | Change to Velocity Sketcher. Use the Eyedropper and select the color of the body of the rat. Adjust the color to a darker hue in the color wheel. Add shadows and texture. Do the same for the rest of the rat. | | 9 | | Do the same step on the eyes of the bug. | | 10 | | Use the Smooth Round Nib and paint in a text balloon in black then add white text. Also add motion to the bug. You're done. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
