Painting the Moon Man Sketch - Corel Painter Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood March 1, 2004 | 1 | | To begin, open up the sketch in Painter and select Auto Select and Current Color. Then press OK. Select Float to raise the sketch to it's own layer. I then created a new layer and dropped it below the sketch. I want to use Tinting for this demonstration so I'm using Grainy Glazing Round 15. Use a yellow green for the main body and begin painting. | | 2 | | I change brushes to the Hard Grainy Round and change to purple and paint in some more of the moon man. After that I use a dark green for the rest of him. | | 3 | | I then change to Basic Round and select the green. Next I find a darker hue of the color. In this step you can increase and decrease the size of the brush. Add shadows. I then proceeded to do the same with the rest of the colors. I changed to orange and added some little highlights around the mouth and eye areas as well as the antennae. I also added black for the eyes. | | 4 | | Next I used Bristle Brush 10 and painted in the spaceship and used the Blender to combine the colors. | | 5 | | I changed to white and went over the moon man with the Salty brush. Under Pens I chose Scratchboard tool and selected black for the color and added detail. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
