Eggcellent - Corel Painter Tutorial
| Jacquelin Vanderwood March 1, 2004 | 1 | | If you have Illustrator, the process of making an egg shape is much easier to do than in any other program. Create a circle, select the Direct Selection tool, hold down the Shift key and drag the top point upwards. Copy and paste into Painter or any other program for that matter. If you need to reduce the size in Painter after pasting, open Effects and select Orientation. | | 2 | | Using the Eyedropper tool, select the egg. Right-click and choose Convert to Shape. | | 3 | | Now open Shapes and select Convert to Selection. If you have square borders, select them and hit Clear or Cut. Fill with white. Seems like a tedious way to make an egg but I tried making one in Painter and gave up. Drag the image of the egg onto the Selection Portfolio and save it. Fill with white again if necessary. | | 4 | | Open Apply Lighting. Select Plane Light. | | 5 | | Make the adjustments as shown below. | | 6 | | Your egg should look like this one. Scale it down. Duplicate the layer several times. | | 7 | | Select Fill. Choose a gradient. You can actually access the gradient palette while in the Fill mode. Set Opacity to about 40% so that you still retain some of the shadowing. Fill each egg with a different gradient. | | 8 | | This is an eggcellent way to make easter eggs. | Copyright 1998-2004, Jacquelin Vanderwood, All Rights Reserved | |
