In this tutorial I'll show you how to import Illustrator files into Painter X.
We start by choosing Save As in Illustrator.

Change the version to Illustrator 3.

You'll get this warning. Say Yes.

In Painter select Acquire and choose Adobe Illustrator File.

Notice how the layers from Illustrator have transferred over to Painter.

Double-clicking on each layer we can then set the stroke and fill colors as well opacity, width of stroke, miter limit, and so on. You will this to each layer.

Once you get all of the above finished, you can proceed to use Painter on the object.
