In this tutorial I'll show you how to draw a house with the Pen tool using colored pencils on textured paper.
First create a new layer then choose a nice soft color for the paper. Use Control+F to fill the layer with the color.

Pick a paper texture and adjust the amount of Appearance of Depth.

Select the Pen tool and draw out the roof.

Next, go to Shapes and choose Convert to Selection.

Increase the size of the brush and reduce the opacity. Choose a color for the roof.

With a few strokes, block in the color for the roof.

With the Painbrush tool still selected, reduce the size of the brush and use the Straight Line Strokes selection to create a shadow effect.

Use the Pen tool and sketch out the shape of a chimney. Remember to convert it to a shape. Change colors and paper texture then increase the size of the colored pencil brush and paint in the interior of the chimney.

Using the same methods as above to create the shape, change the texture, increase the size of the brush, and reduce opacity.

To give the house a moulding, just simply use the Pen tool and create the whole piece, then when painting in the color, go over the right side of the house a few more times than in the front.

When we get to this point, I want to add lines in the windows.

Select the Pen tool, and also click on the Align to Path option.

Select the Paintbrush tool and paint even if you can see the line.

If you have trouble doing the lines, it may be because you some how are on the wrong layer so keep an eye on that.
Here is the finished house. More detail can definitely be added using the methods I've shown you above.
