Selective Color - Corel Painter Tutorial
by Jacquelin Vanderwood | 1 | | This technique is for focusing on a particular area of your picture. Begin by opening up a photo. In this lesson I have chosen to work on a manipulated photo. Select>All (Command-A). Choose Floater Adjuster tool, hold down Option key and click image. This will create an exact duplicate floater of your original picture. | | 2 | | Desaturate the photo by choosing Effects>Tonal Control>Adjust Colors and drag the Saturation slider bar completely to the left. | | 3 | | Here is where we will reveal the underlying image color. You will use a brush to erase portions of the floater mask. Choose Airbrush>Thin Stroke and the color white. In the Objects>Mask List select the Floater Mask. If you want to view the floater in color while editing, click on the floater mask eye icon. Begin erasing the mask on the floater in the area you want to color. To change a color back to grayscale, move the color to black on the Color palette. If you want the color to be dim, choose gray which will bring back only a minimum of color. | | Copyright 1999 Jacquelin Vanderwood, All rights reserved |
