Here we have our photo that we would like to clean up. The first thing I would like to do is get rid of the mirror on the wall.
Select the Clone tool and press the Alt key to select an area vertically below the area we want to clean up. Because the shading on the wall is gradient in nature, we have to be very careful how we clone.
When you start getting into restricted areas where there is not much room to move, reduce the size of the brush used for cloning, and make short strokes always keeping in mind that you must stay in the vertical position with what you are trying to clone out.
So now I've cloned mostly in short small strokes to get to this point. Now that I've passed the ear of the cat, I can enlarge the brush size to complete the cloning process.
So now I've completed the wall area where the mirror had been.
Duplicate the layer. Let's now create an oval selection and invert it.
Feather the selection about 2 pixels.
Now apply a Surface Blue to the selection with the settings shown below.
Go to Layer Mask and choose Hide All. The blurred layer will disappear.
Now select a soft brush.
Make sure white is the foreground color, also check to see that you have the mask selected.
Finally, paint back over the blurred areas but don't paint the front legs of the cat.
