Let's start with a black background and then follow with the Text tool creating a word using the information below.
Type your word and then select one letter and increase the size to 100 pt.
Right-click in the empty space of the layer and select Rasterize Type.
Duplicate the layer 3 times.
For the first copied layer, increase the size.
Do the same for each layer.
Select the second duplicated layer. Make a selection around the X and then invert the selection. Open Motion Blur and set the distance to 14 pixels.
Open Motion Blur and set the angle to -72 and hit OK.
Set the layer to Exclusion.
On the next duplicated layer, set the layer to Screen. Select the X again and invert. Apply Motion Blur to the outside letters with the settings below.
Apply Motion Blur to the X as shown here.
Duplicate the last duplicated layer. Select the layer below and change the layer mode to Difference. Select the top layer and change it's mode to Difference. Duplicate that layer and change it's mode to Hard Light.
Open Layer Styles and apply a Gradient as shown below and a stroke.
Your text should now look like the one below.
