In this lesson I'll show you how to make a cement texture.
I'm creating this texture on an 800 pixel x 800 pixel format. Start with the default colors by pressing the D key.

Let's apply the Difference Cloud effect to the layer, then hit Control+F to cycle through the different looks.
Now go into Render and apply Fibers with the settings below.
Apply Fade and set to 15% opacity.
We then need to apply Texturizer with Sandstone as the texture. The scaling is 129% and the relief is 15 with light coming from the bottom right.
Next a Texture is applied using grain with an intensity of 15, a contrast of 21 and grain type is horizontal.
At this point we need to make this pattern by applying Offset.
Use the Patch tool to hide the divisions in the pattern and then go ahead and select Define Pattern. Make a new document and create new layer within the document, then fill with the cement pattern. Use the Perspective option under Transform to make the shape of a sidewalk. Use the Line tool to create cracks in the cement using the color black and also use the Burn tool set to Midtones to add more definition. Finally, add lighting to the sidewalk to make it more realistic.
